The Delicious Benefits of CSA Membership: First Dibs at Spring Greens!

April 19, 2013

We just harvested our first round of spring greens… Spinach!  Baby Kale!  Baby Lettuce!  Mustard Greens!  Edible Flowers!  This produce will be available for sale to 2013 CSA members only, tomorrow (Saturday) from 9am to 11pm by pre-order.  If you have sent in your CSA sign up form for 2013, please send an email to BrookFarmProject@gmail.com to pre-order one or more of the following items:

  • Winter-Grown Spinach – $5.50 per 1/4 lb bag
  • Winter-Grown Young Mustard Greens Mix – $5.50 per 1/4 lb bag
  • Winter-Grown Salad Mix (a mix of baby lettuce, baby kale, mustard greens, spinach, and edible flowers) – $5.50 per 1/4 lb bag
  • Fresh Eggs (very limited quantity) – $3 per half-dozen eggs

(For a price comparison, non-local organic baby greens in the supermarket cost about $4-$6 for a 5-oz plastic tub).  Pre-orders via email only by 8 AM Saturday.  Produce is limited and available on a first come, first serve basis.  Limit of a half-pound of each greens item per family.  Items can be picked up at the farm between 9am and 11am Saturday, April 20.  We will respond via email to confirm that we can fill your order.  Any items not sold in the morning will be available for sale to the public at our table at the Environmental Awareness and Sustainability Day at SUNY New Paltz this Saturday from noon until 4pm.

Not a CSA member yet but still interested in spring greens?  Come by tomorrow morning between 9am and 11am, sign up to be a CSA member on the spot, and you can purchase whatever greens are not yet set aside!

CSA Members: please email BrookFarmProject@gmail.com to pre-order your greens!
